The Students in the College is the vibrant section. They have several facilities in the college.
The college grants Free Studentship/ Half-free Studentship to poor but meritorious students.
Students who have secured 50% and 45% marks in examination of Board/ Council (or
equivalent examination)are eligible to put their application. At least 20% of applicants are
granted concession. Students from SC/ST/OBC are entitled to special stipends. There is also a
Students Benevolent Fund to give financial support to poor and meritorious students. All the
students are card holders of Students Health Home. A medical Unit for students is run by the
College. The Students of the college have a Students' Union to voice the demands of the
Students, create a healthy academic atmosphere and get involved in the various developments
of the college. Beside the annual function in the College, the Annual Sports, Cultural
Programmes are also organized by the Union. The publication of the College Magazines are
also done by the Students' Union. Apart from this there is a Cheap Canteen for the students.
Campus interviews are successfully arranged by the College. Wipro Spectramind, Keventer
Agro Ltd. have conducted such interviews and listed probable recruits. Other reputed
Companies are also showing interest in recruiting the students. The students have
tremendous exposure in their work with the NSS. The various activities of the
NSS include anti-smoking campaign,cleaning of College premises, tree plantation, gardening, health
awareness camps in nearby villages. In the year 2008 the NSS has rendered laudable services
in the adjacent area of thecollege. Students remain active through out the year with all
these work.
The NSS Students have successfully attended a National Camp in December 2008.They
have a plan to attend another camp in Amritsar. Apart from all these, the meritorious
Students of Bengali and Pol.Science departments are given cash prizes from the Endowment
Funds of the College.The students also participate in Extension Activities which enable them
to have all round development. Sixteen station gym with proper trainer is also functioning.
The construction of gym cum auditorium is nearing completion.Three volunteers of NSS unit
participated in National Camp of NSS.Wards of bidi workers in the college can enjoy stipend
from the state Government.

Hostels : Construction of ground floor of the Girls' Hostel has been completed.
The construction of the first floor with the financial assistance from UGC will start soon. One
Hostel for SC/ST/OBC by the BCW Department is completed and the construction of the first
floor has been undertaken by the concerned Department.
